Perugia, Italy

Yellow fields on the way to Perugia

Perugia, the capital of Umbria was our final destination on the list.
Though the town was tattered and in some parts a bit dirty, it still had a beautiful downtown and an old world charm that can only be found in Italy.
We spent the day wondering through ancient streets, moving slowly through churches, sipping 1 Euro cappuccinos, blowing bubbles and taking it all in before our final departure.
Overall, Italy is a country to enjoy slowly by removing your watch and letting time simply take you.
It is a beautiful country wrapped in the warmth of cheerful people and food that is as rich as her past.

Gubbio, Italy

Notice the people inside the tower ringing the bells.

With another charming town on the agenda, we knew we must get out and explore.
More gelato to eat, more cobbled stoned streets to meander down and more Italian culture to relish in.
Gubbio was a beautiful town and did not disappoint.

Views behind every nook and cranny.
Great views from the top of the town.
 Beautiful views.

Trying to relish in each moment and remember the passing of time.

Montone, Italy

Voted one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy, we decided to see for ourselves the sweet town of Montone.
What made this town so very attractive was not only the old stone buildings and incredible charm, but also the stunning views from high above the city.
There is something truly magical about the area, sprawling landscapes, fields of wild poppies, rapeseed flowers that stretch for miles, lush, green grass and the rolling hills.
It truly is enchanting!
Another day and on this day, an Easter day at that, spent exploring, searching and discovering more of Italy's beauty.
Locals gathering in the town square.
Noah once again finding more steps to climb.
 Views from the distance.
 Little family shot.

And this is why we love the area...

Afternoon hike - ok, afternoon run!
Noah and Robert - ahh...moments like these make my heart melt!
 Just checking out the trees.
Another family shot on the hike!

Assisi

Noah using his new favorite word, "babe."

Assisi – what a beautiful town!
My best friend had told me that on a visit with her husband they simply fell in love with this city - now we know why.
The town is perched on a remote hill and the city is remarkable.
Everywhere you turn there are churches created out of a pinkish and white stone, making for a crisp backdrop.
The  home of the famous St. Francis of Assisi cathedral is here and what a spectacle to behold.
The town wraps you in her charm and makes even the weary of visitors long for more.

Beautiful field of flowers on our way to Assisi.
