A Night in the Alps - Obersteinberg #2

We Love the Alps!
Despite the dreary weather, we decided to head into the Alps to one of our favorite Berghauses perched high in the mountains. We had a wonderful 2.5 hour hike up to the top and once there, we enjoyed some fabulous Swiss Apfelkuchen and then decided to do some more exploring of the area. We made this same trip last year, but in August and this year in June, the snow levels were much higher, so the exploring was a bit less active. Overall, we had a great time, enjoyed the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley and slept peacefully under our thick, duvets in the candlelight of Obersteinberg.
As our friend said, "it is like going back in time, no electricity, no running water, with hearty Swiss food in the beauty of the Alps."
Life is good!
Well marked trail on the way up
Small farm houses across the valley
Happy Cows make Good Cheese...
Look quick, there's a peak...
A little rain on the way up, but finally, Obersteinberg!
100% Natural Clothes Dryer...
Yeah! Alps! And it is cold! 3 celsius...
The trail past Obersteinberg...
Look Steinbock!
Snow Melt and Bridge Crossing...with a raging river underneath...
Let's go that way...
To keep the tourists in...
Great Hiking...
Cheesy waterfall shot...

Another Waterfall
Look, more peaks..
Small Blue Flowers
River crossing
More waterfalls...
Hiking action
Coming down the valley...
Another beautiful trip in the Alps!

Wow, I can't belive it is still that cold and yet so green. Absolutely gorgeous! Definitely a place to visit next time we are out!
