Homeward Bound

It had been awhile...

never had we thought that so much time would have passed between visits home. But with my pregnancy, our work schedules and the birth of Noah, it had been 1.5 years since I had been home. It sounds almost ridiculous to write. As much as we love Switzerland; the US (despite the bum economy) is our home and after three weeks at home, we actually came back and felt a bit homesick. We miss speaking a language that everyone (well, almost everyone) understands, we miss Trader Joe's and their five varieties of lemonade, we miss Valley Forge Park, I miss the hell out of kale, veggie burgers, good pickles and well, the list goes on. But mostly, we miss family and friends. We miss showing off our little man to people who love us and who already love him.

Our experience in Switzerland is amazing, we get to travel Europe, we get to learn a new language, we can actually live easily without a car, we don't worry about the Swiss economy and we feel safe. That is a lot of wonderful gifts all tied up in a pretty, little package, but what would make that package all the better is if all of our friends and family could conveniently relocate to Switzerland.

Well, I could go on, but for now, enjoy the photos and know there are a lot more to come...this is just a brief snapshot of our time at home. We had a fabulous time and we cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to spend quality time with family and friends. Seeing Jenifer and meeting her daughter for the first time, was an incredible moment. I could go on and on about how amazing and crazy it is that we actually have children. We met in a swim lane some 24 years ago and now, we are married and have children.

Life is a journey and an incredible one at that.
