Misty Morning
We typically venture down to the Rhine and make a loop that eventually returns us home.
Today, we completed our normal route, but as the cold morning air stung our cheeks it also danced across the Rhine.
I couldn't stop taking pictures.
Moments like these I simply want to capture and seal tight in my memory bank hoping to recall them at a later date.
And each time I preview the photos I just took on my digital camera, I think to myself, "Wow...that is history."
The photos I just took are now in the past - a moment that can simply slip away into an unknown void unless I take the time to capture it.
The steam continued to slowly creep up the river with a mystical stride, as if to greet each new passerby. And at that moment I felt grateful that I could enjoy such pristine, untouched beauty with my son and I thought, "I hope I always take the time to relish in the small wonders of life."
Whether it is a bird in flight, a setting sun or the changing autumn leaves; it is all a gift and a gift that Noah has helped me appreciate more and more as each day passes.
That is the beauty of children; you start to see the world through their eyes, and you realize how incredible life truly is.
Thank you Noah!

Wow, that looks incredible! I love when the mist does that. I should try being late for work a few times and catch some of that action over here and share it as you have! :)
such a beautiful post, melinda! so neat that you two share your mornings in such a special way; what great memories you'll make!
