Belalp, Switzerland

On a recent workout in the gym, I did something I do not normally do.

I toggled through the TV looking for a clip of the Tour de France.

Instead, I stumbled across a sports channel profiling a professional surfer.

Yes, I have an odd affinity for surfing, though I have never attempted the sport.

Nonetheless, something he said resonated with me and I immediately thought, “yes, that is it, that too is why I love to travel.“

He said,

"The thing I love about travel is that it makes you realize what you have and what you do not need!“

Well said!

Belalp, Switzerland
The sheep enjoying the last bit of winter...

Mountains through the fog...

Noah watching the cows make their way into the barn...
Noah having fun in the room...

You are not in Switzerland unless there are cows...
Beautiful little church on a great hike...

Noah having an Alpine swing with Dad...
Noah doing a bit of hiking with Mom....yes, he wears a harness in the Alps.

View of the glacier...

Noah and Mom enjoying the day...

Family shot in front of the Aletsch glacier.... the largest glacier in the Alps...over 23km.

More of the glacier, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. (look closely at the people crossing the hanging bridge at the bottom of the picture, then you will realize the scale of this!)

Very impressive....

Taking it all in...

A wanderweg on the trail...

Noah and Robert hiking...

Blue skies and Toy Story clouds...

Noah having some fun with his glasses...

The boys loungin'...

Coffee anyone?

Early morning hike...

So sweet...moments like these you want to preserve forever!

Hamilton Lodge...a great place to stay!
