V-Day In B-Town
It has been a long time yearning of mine to visit Spain. It might be due to my high school days at Cal High learning to roll my “R’s” with a great Spanish teacher, but the need to visit the country has been tugging at me for awhile. We booked our trip back in December and made the four-day journey last weekend. It was great and once again we feel most fortunate to live in the center of Europe, where we have access to so many countries.

The moment we got off the plane and I entered customs to get another stamp in the passport, all the Spanish I had practiced for the last hour seemed to fade into a beautiful blend of Germish. At times we wish we were trilingual.
We quickly jumped on a bus and made the 45-minute ride from the airport to the center of Barcelona. We checked into The Five Rooms, our cute little B and B and headed out to see the ocean. We love Switzerland, but we were anxious to see the big blue. We spent the entire afternoon walking through the streets of Barcelona, taking in the sites, sounds and the culture. Barcelona is an architects dream…the buildings are incredible, the city has a beautiful energy and we were happy to be there.
