Herbstmesse

Herbstmesse in Basel
Each year as the fall leaves begin to change colors, Basel welcomes this beautiful time of year with the annual fall festival.
The streets are transformed into happening sites for venders and buyers and everyone seems to partake in the celebration of the new season.
This year seemed to be a bit more special as we shared in the excitement with Noah.
Happy fall to all!

Misty Morning

Misty Morning
As each new morning arrives, Noah and I greet the day by taking a morning walk.
We typically venture down to the Rhine and make a loop that eventually returns us home.
Today, we completed our normal route, but as the cold morning air stung our cheeks it also danced across the Rhine.
I couldn't stop taking pictures.
Moments like these I simply want to capture and seal tight in my memory bank hoping to recall them at a later date.
And each time I preview the photos I just took on my digital camera, I think to myself, "Wow...that is history."
The photos I just took are now in the past - a moment that can simply slip away into an unknown void unless I take the time to capture it.
The steam continued to slowly creep up the river with a mystical stride, as if to greet each new passerby. And at that moment I felt grateful that I could enjoy such pristine, untouched beauty with my son and I thought, "I hope I always take the time to relish in the small wonders of life."
Whether it is a bird in flight, a setting sun or the changing autumn leaves; it is all a gift and a gift that Noah has helped me appreciate more and more as each day passes.
That is the beauty of children; you start to see the world through their eyes, and you realize how incredible life truly is.
Thank you Noah!

Happy Fall!

What can I say, I adore the fall.
When it comes to seasons, fall is by far my favorite. Fall is the time of year to eat all things pumpkin, ramble through fallen leaves and simply enjoy the crispness in the air. So, with the autumn upon us, we are trying to get out there with Noah and enjoy this wonderful season. This past weekend we took a lovely hike with a good friend of ours and stumbled across an incredible Swiss farm with every variety of pumpkin one could possibly imagine.
We had a fabulous walk and are enjoying the luster of the new season.
