The Best of the Best - 2010 - The Best Beach

It is quite possible that this post is inspired by the bleak, grey weather we are now experiencing in Basel, but nonetheless, come the end of January and most people could use a little sunshine.
So, here it is...if only through pictures.
The 2010 Best of the Best - best beaches.
Our favorite beach was found in Mallorca, Spain and called Es Trenc.
A white sand beach, hidden behind salt queries, it was a stunning surprise in every way.
The kind of beach that made you instantly want to jump in, forget your worries and swim, swim, swim.
Even Noah relished in delight as he frolicked in the "big pool."
Small waves, and shallow waters made for the perfect playground for all of us.

Our second favorite beach, turquoise in color with a cool location was also found in Mallorca, Spain.
A beautiful haven for swimming and a fabulous way to bring in another anniversary.

The Best of the Best - 2010

Our love for travel has only blossomed since we moved to Switzerland.
We are now in the center of Europe, capable of hopping on cheap flights, taking incredibly scenic trains and with all of that at our fingertips, it seems, well, a shame not to get out there.
So this past year, 2010, marked a year of epic travel for our family.
We braved the cold and snow in the Alps, we ventured to new places, treaded through big cities and small towns, all the while, growing  fonder of travel and exploring.
By the end of the year,  we collected beautiful memories, shared wonderful experiences and felt somehow richer for each new opportunity (we still feel incredibly blessed to have this experience).
So, periodically on our blog, we will feature the Best of the Best 2010, which will profile what we considered the greatest of our travel journeys.

 Paris - A Beautiful Surprise!

We had put this trip on hold one too many times, and as the winter days seemed to progress longer than anticipated, we knew it was time.
Time to hop on that high - speed train, and make our way to Paris.
We had heard oh so many things about Paris and to be quite honest, many of the reviews were less than favorable, but what we found was a fabulous city, rich in history, exquisite architecture and incredible art.
We walked the streets each day with Noah strapped to our backs and kept thinking, "Wow, is a great city."
So, our 2010 pick for the Best Surprise was Paris, despite what we heard, it was a wonderful little treasure!
