Weekends

 Ahh...weekends.
This was a special weekend for us, as we had a great visitor.
Our brother - in - law paid us a visit and we had a great time showing him around Basel.
If only visitors could stay longer, or bring the entire family!
And Sunday, we spent a much needed day in the woods.
Noah had a blast trekking through the hills, all the while finding important tidbits for his scavenger hunt mission.

Babes...

Oh, these days are so sweet.
We are enjoying each tender moment between siblings, and relishing in the fact that our little ones are growing as each new day passes.
I try to hold on tight to each new moment, as I know I will miss these days once they are gone.
So today is wonderful and our babes are a true gift!
And as I write this...I think of one of my favorite songs by Alan Jackson - the words are so precious and so true...

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
 Tessa gives Noah a kiss.

 Funny faces at lunch time...

Family Time

It has been a busy few weeks in our house.
From the eager anticipation of our second child and a birth plan that didn’t quite go according to plan, to welcoming our beautiful daughter into our lives, to watching her grow and change right before our eyes, to adjusting to life with another child, adapting Noah’s life to accommodate his sweet sister, to Noah starting his first day at speilgruppe – a Swiss German playgroup, to welcoming visits from Nana Mae, we are ripe with firsts, weary with exhaustion and still relishing in the fact that more than likely our family is now a complete unit.
After typing all that, I am ready to come up for air, ready to give a heartfelt thanks to all who have made this day possible and full of gratitude for the blessings that have been bestowed upon us.
Firsts are always an exciting new adventure and we are holding tight to each new moment.
