Day Trips

Simply put - long weekends rock!
With an extra day on our hands, we decided to take a little day trip.
This trip involved almost every mode of transportation.
We made our way to Lucerne, then on the lake by boat, then up the steep hill to Mt. Rigi where we took in incredible views, had a picnic and then hiked down the mountain.
It was a fabulous long day with the added joy of returning home in time to sleep in our own beds!
 Wee little drop off!

Neuchâtel

“One doesn’t have to travel far to make new discoveries, see the world anew and feel alive.”

One and a half hours away from Basel, in the French speaking part of Switzerland lies the crystal clear waters of lake Neuchatel and its’ quaint city.  Though the day was a bit overcast and cool, we spent time lazily picnicking by the lake, while our son enjoyed throwing stones and conversing with passerby swans.  The Alps were visible from the shores; kites flew high as the day marched on in a slow, meandering fashion.  Sometimes, one doesn’t have to go far in order to feel away from it all.

Right Now...

Right Now...
We are enjoying the spring.
Watching puppet shows.
Working on patience.
Playing in gardens.
Listening to K-Naan and inspired by his story.
Amazed that Tessa cut her top two teeth at the same time and happy the pain has subsided.
Looking forward to some day trips.
Grateful Robert is home.
Looking forward to seeing family next month!

Happy Mother's Day!

Noah - my first little gift!
 Happy Mother's Day!

I am so grateful that I have children on this day and everyday so that I am able to fully experience what it means to be a mother.
It is an awesome experience.
So, today I thank my own mothers and thank my children.
Noah and Tessa I loved you before I even knew you and all my life I dreamed of you.
I love you today, tomorrow and always, as you fill my life with the greatest joy imaginable!

Right Now...

 Right Now We Are:
  • Enjoying the beautiful spring and all of her gorgeous flowers.
  • Thankful that the Botanical Gardens are so close to home.
  • Grateful that Robert is home.
  • Enjoying the ripe berries.
  • Listening to and admiring the incredible sounds of Joe Purdy and wishing he could come over for dinner.  I especially love - Why Do I and Miss You
  • Still plugging away at fun projects.
  • Dancing around the family room to the sweet sounds of Joe Purdy with both babes in my arms.
  • Looking forward to a trek to the Alps at the end of the month and grateful that the Alps are so very near.
  • Blessed that Tessa is now a thriving 9 month old baby girl! Oh, how we love her so and all the joy that she brings.  Maybe that should have been her middle name...Joy as she brings so much, but Grace and all that it means is quite perfect for our little gal.
  • Fortunate that friends are able to meet at wonderful parks to let our little ones play.
  • Happy that the weekend is upon us!
